The Sioux Falls School District announced Oct. 20 that families in the district can use free, on-demand mental health resources through ParentGuidance.org, funded by the Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation, according to the district.

The district said the platform offers a confidential place for parents and caregivers to find information and support on topics including anxiety, depression, behavior, grief and loss, and parenting.

According to the announcement, the partnership with the Cook Center includes more than 70 on-demand video courses led by licensed therapists and mental health experts. The courses, articles and related resources are available in English and Spanish at any time, the district said.

Families can also submit questions to mental health professionals through the Ask a Therapist service and browse more than 200 previously answered questions, according to the district. Its Mental Health Series includes more than 30 topics, with live events, on-demand videos, articles and quick takeaways, the announcement said.

The district said the resources are intended to help parents and guardians build skills to support their families. The announcement did not provide a separate contact number or in-person location for accessing the services.
