Baldwin Supply Co. is tripling the size of its Sioux Falls branch at 908 E. Amidon St., with the expansion expected to be completed early next year, according to the company’s announcement published Oct. 23.
The branch, which has operated since 2001, will grow to more than 50,000 square feet, the announcement said. It serves customers in South Dakota, neighboring western states, southwest Minnesota and northwest Iowa, and supplies businesses in industries including agriculture, construction, manufacturing, food and beverage, and mining, according to Baldwin.
The added space will include expanded warehouse and office areas, a customer training center for technical education and hands-on training, and an indoor truck pull-through with an overhead crane system, the company said. Baldwin said the expansion will allow it to keep more inventory locally and improve access to products.
The Sioux Falls branch also houses one of Baldwin’s five regional conveyor belt service teams, which provides on-site installation and fabrication of industrial rubber and plastic components, as well as custom belting solutions, according to the announcement.
Reynolds Construction Management is leading the project, and Baldwin owner and CEO Rob LaRue said the expansion is intended to strengthen the company’s ability to serve customers in and around Sioux Falls.
