Smoe’s Bar has reopened at 921 E. Eighth St. in Sioux Falls under new ownership, according to an Oct. 14 announcement from SiouxFalls.Business. Pat Nelson and Brandon De Jong, partners in downtown’s The Hello Hi, own the bar, which previously operated at the location from 1946 to 2011, the announcement said.
The building’s glass-block feature and facade remain, while the interior has been fitted with a new bar and bar top, booth seating and vintage-style decor, SiouxFalls.Business reported. Chef Duy Pham, who runs Le Oui Oui from The Hello Hi’s kitchen, will provide thin-crust, Midwest tavern-style pizza, along with basic bar snacks, the announcement said.
The bar has a full liquor license, which the owners purchased two years ago, according to SiouxFalls.Business. Live music, if offered, would be on the patio, Nelson told the publication; the patio has been fenced and landscaped.
Smoe’s is open from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday, 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday and noon to 2 a.m. Sunday, the announcement said.
