What the measure does
Today, a proposed change to the state Constitution passes if more than half of the votes cast support it. This would require at least 60% of the votes cast to approve a future constitutional change. It would not change the rule for this vote on Amendment L itself.
What the result means for Sioux Falls
A no vote means the Constitution stays as it is. A proposed constitutional change would continue to need more than half of the votes cast to pass.
What happens next
These results are unofficial. They become final when election officials certify them at the canvass, and totals can still change a little as remaining mailed and provisional ballots are counted.
