The Washington Pavilion will open Let’s Build, a permanent exhibit at the Kirby Science Discovery Center, on Oct. 17, the organization announced. The exhibit is designed for children ages 2–8 and is on the center’s fourth floor in the former Discovery Den space, according to the announcement.
The exhibit, made possible by the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire and the Home Builders Care Foundation, features interactive building challenges involving simple machines, moving objects and large loads, the Pavilion said. Visitors can work together to find solutions and explore career areas including electrical work, plumbing, HVAC, interior design, carpentry, construction and landscaping, according to the announcement.
The Pavilion said representatives of the two supporting organizations will join Pavilion leadership and staff for an opening celebration from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 16, including a ribbon cutting in the fourth-floor exhibit space.
For museum admission information and visit planning, the Pavilion directed visitors to WashingtonPavilion.org.
