The City of Sioux Falls says street and lane closures are underway or scheduled at four locations in the city, beginning Oct. 7 or Oct. 8, as crews carry out repairs and other work.
South Tomar Road is closed between 62nd and 63rd streets beginning at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, for city Public Works Water Maintenance Division repairs following water-main repairs made the previous week, according to the announcement. The city expects the work to finish by 5 p.m. that day, and urges drivers to use caution and reduced speeds or consider alternate routes.
The outside southbound lane of South Sycamore Avenue between Mission Street and 57th Street closed Oct. 7 for sidewalk repairs, the city said. The west sidewalk is also closed, with pedestrians detoured to the east sidewalk; weather permitting, the work is expected to take two days.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, the southbound outside lane of South Cliff Avenue between Veterans Parkway and 85th Street is closed for Daves Construction work in the public right-of-way, according to the city. The city anticipates completion by 11 a.m. Oct. 9.
The outside westbound lane of West 12th Street between West Avenue and I-29 is intermittently closed starting Oct. 8 for storm-drainage and concrete-surface repairs, the announcement said. One inside westbound lane will remain open, and the city expects the work to take about two to three weeks. The city urges motorists near the work zones to use caution, reduce speed and consider alternate routes.
