The South Dakota Department of Transportation will hold an open house Oct. 27 in Sioux Falls to discuss replacement options for the 10th and 11th Street viaducts and gather public input, according to the department’s announcement.
The meeting is scheduled for 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn City Centre, 100 E. 8th St., according to SDDOT. The department said it is working with the city, the South Eastern Council of Governments/Sioux Falls Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Federal Highway Administration on the study.
SDDOT said the meeting will present three replacement options and collect feedback on bridge profile, connections to Reid Street, roadway alignment, pedestrian connectivity and effects on nearby community resources. The open house will include a recorded presentation, shown multiple times, and interactive activities, according to the announcement.
The study will also assess possible effects on publicly owned parks and recreation properties protected under federal Sections 4(f) and 6(f), SDDOT said.
Written comments may be submitted at the meeting, sent to HDR, Inc., Attn: 10th and 11th Streets Viaduct Study, 101 S. Phillips Ave., Suite 401, Sioux Falls, SD 57104, or shared through the study website, according to the department. SDDOT said comments will be accepted through Nov. 10.
