Augustana University’s volleyball team defeated UMary 3-1 at the Elmen Center in Sioux Falls on Saturday, Oct. 10, according to Augustana University Athletics. The Vikings won the sets 25-18, 23-25, 25-19 and 25-12, the announcement said.
The win was Augustana’s second at home in 24 hours, and the team improved to 11-8 overall and 5-6 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, according to the university. UMary’s record stood at 4-15 overall and 2-9 in conference play.
Augustana hit.266 with 53 kills and 10 blocks, while UMary hit.067 with 39 kills, the announcement said. The Vikings also led in assists, 48-36, and digs, 51-46; UMary edged Augustana in service aces, 5-4, according to the recap.
